Terms of Service

Effective date: March 12, 2026  ยท  shouldigooutside.now

Before you use Should I Go Outside? (the app or this website), please read these terms. By using the app, you're agreeing to them.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Should I Go Outside? app or visiting shouldigooutside.now, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the app or this website.

These terms apply to all users of the app and website, wherever you are in the world.

2. What the App Does

Should I Go Outside? is a free app that looks at weather data for your location and gives you a simple, opinionated answer to one question: should you go outside right now?

The app gives you a recommendation, not a professional weather forecast.

  • The app is free to use with no in-app purchases.
  • No account creation is required to use the app.
  • Weather data is sourced from third-party providers (see Section 7).

3. No Warranty, Provided As-Is

Should I Go Outside? is provided "as-is" without any warranties, express or implied. We make no guarantees about the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the weather data or recommendations shown in the app.

The app pulls data from third-party weather services, and we can't control the accuracy of that data.

We don't warrant that the app will be available at all times, free from bugs, or suitable for any particular purpose.

4. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Should I Go Outside? and its creator (Jordon de Hoog) will not be liable for any damages arising from your use of the app or website, including but not limited to decisions you made based on the app's recommendations. Please use common sense alongside the app.

5. Acceptable Use

Please don't misuse the app. You agree not to:

  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or hack the app or website.
  • Use the app in any way that could harm other users or the service itself.
  • Use automated bots or scrapers to extract data from the app or website without permission.
  • Use the app for any unlawful purpose.

Be respectful and use the app as intended.

6. Intellectual Property

Everything in the Should I Go Outside? app and on this website (the name, logo, design, copy, and code) belongs to Should I Go Outside? (Jordon de Hoog) unless otherwise noted.

You're welcome to share screenshots, link to the site, and talk about the app. You just can't copy or redistribute our brand, design, or content as your own.

7. Third-Party Services

The app relies on external services to function, including:

  • Weather APIs for current and forecast weather data for your location.
  • Firebase for backend infrastructure and app functionality.

These third-party services have their own terms of service and privacy policies, which we don't control. We're not responsible for how those services handle your data or for any outages they may cause.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the app or website at any time, for any reason, with or without notice. This includes (but isn't limited to) situations where these terms are being violated.

Since no account is required, this mostly means we could block access from specific sources if needed.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app or website after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.

We'll keep terms changes reasonable and clearly communicated.

10. Governing Law

These terms are intended to be read internationally and in good faith.

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will still apply.
